MetEngUK installs Vaisala CL31 laser ceilometer for BAE Systems

A Vaisala CL31, second generation, single-optics laser ceilometer was installed by MetEngUK engineers at Walney Island Airfield today, to support BAE Systems’ aircraft operations.

The weather at Walney Island is frequently ‘marginal’, and the addition of this precision system, for cloud base height determination, provides further security for aircrew and aircraft.
