Glaxo SmithKline engage MetEngUK to install new meteorological systems

GSK, the pharmaceutical manufacturer, called in MetEngUK to supply, install and commission a new wind monitoring system and temperature & humidity measuring equipment at their manufacturing site in Ware, Hertfordshire. The installations were completed today.

The new wind system, based on Vaisala’s WD30 averaging wind display, replaces an unserviceable and ageing system to provide vital data in the event of a hazardous release to the atmosphere. Accurate temperature and humidity data are required for certain manufacturing processes.

The installations represent the start of a long-term relationship between the two companies, as MetEngUK will provide an on-going annual routine maintenance and calibration service for the newly installed systems.
