Aviation barometer system for Metropolitan Police Service's ASU

MetEngUK engineers completed the installation and commissioning of a Vaisala PA50 aviation barometer system today, for the Metropolitan Police’s Air Support Unit at Lippitt’s Hill Camp in Essex.

MetEngUK installed a Vaisala CT25K laser ceilometer at Lippitt’s Hill in 2001, to significantly improve the meteorological data available to the helicopter aircrew.

The commissioning of the new aviation barometer system provides aircrew and support staff with further important weather-related information to assist with the vital crime-busting 24-hour helicopter operations from the Essex base.
