The Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power station at Saltend, Hull invites MetEngUK to assess their operational meteorological systems

Engineers from MetEngUK today visited the CCGT power station at Saltend to determine whether the installed meteorological systems could be included in MetEngUK’s annual routine maintenance schedule.

The equipment consists primarily of standard Vaisala meteorological sensors measuring: wind speed & direction, air temperature & humidity, and atmospheric pressure; the sensor outputs being converted into industry-standard current signals by proprietary converters. Data from these various sensors are input to the turbine control systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency, regardless of the weather-related parameter variations.
