BWFC contract MetEngUK to upgrade real-time AWS

After a protracted consultation period, Bolton Wanderers Football Club have today placed a significant order with MetEngUK to replace their ailing weather measurement equipment.

The new system, the installation of which will be completed in February 2011, employs the latest precision meteorological sensors, Campbell Scientific dataloggers, and wireless data links for the remote sensors.

A number of real-time weather parameters will be available to BWFC ground management team including: air temperature; dew-point temperature; relative humidity; 10-metre wind speed and direction; rainfall amount; barometric pressure. A portable sensor system is also being installed to provide detailed temperature data relating to the pitch surface within the stadium.
