MetEngUK boss takes active part in 'Science & Engineering in Industry Day' at leading Manchester Technology College.

Wellacre Technology College, Flixton, Manchester, is one of the top five highest performing specialist schools in the U.K. The College invited Mr Brian Mott – Met Engineering’s managing director – to take part in their annual ‘Science & Engineering in Industry Day’ yesterday.

Mr Mott, who has considerable experience of explaining ‘meteorological engineering’ to school and college students, was delighted to accept the invitation, and spent a full day at the college lecturing to a number of groups, and demonstrating state-of-the-art meteorological instrumentation and systems. The students were delighted to take a ‘hands-on’ part in configuring a demonstration Vaisala WD50 wind system for use at an airfield.

Following the event, Mr R Howell – Wellacre’s Headmaster – wrote: “I am writing to thank you again for the magnificent contribution to our students’ education and enjoyment of Science when you took part in our Science & Engineering in Industry Day on Thursday 29th January.
